Lay Leadership

As the governing body of the parish, the Vestry oversees church operations, including financial stewardship, maintenance of church grounds and buildings, and the recruitment of individuals to serve in leadership roles. When the position of Rector becomes vacant, the Vestry is responsible for leading the search and electing a new Rector.

The Vestry at Wicomico Parish Church is composed of nine lay members elected by the congregation to serve staggered three-year terms.

Much of the Vestry’s work is carried out through committees, which often include parishioners who are not Vestry members. This collaborative structure allows for broader participation and shared responsibility in the life of the church.
