Ministries
Music Ministry
Music is a sacred language in our worship, helping us pray, praise, and connect more deeply with God and one another. Both services include music, but our 9:30 AM service features a choir and expanded congregational singing. The ministry’s purpose is to glorify God and uplift the spiritual journey of all who gather. Music is a way to share the Gospel and enhance the worship experience for everyone. To learn more about joining the choir, please contact our Parish Administrator Anne Parker.

Chalice Bearers & Lay Readers
Licensed Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs), also known as Chalice Bearers, assist in distributing the consecrated wine during Holy Communion. Lay Readers (Lectors) proclaim Scripture and lead the Prayers of the People.

Eucharistic Visitors
Eucharistic Visitors are trained laypersons licensed by the diocese to bring consecrated Communion (Hosts) to those unable to attend services due to illness or infirmity. These visits offer prayer, companionship, and the Eucharist, under the guidance of clergy. Training includes diocesan and safeguarding requirements.
If you would like to learn more about participating as a Lay Eucharistic Visitor, please contact our Rector
Altar Guild, Linens & Flower Guild
The Altar Guild lovingly prepares the sanctuary for worship—caring for vestments, vessels, and the altar itself. To assist, contact Cheryl Wood.
The Linen Guild keeps our linens cleaned, pressed, and ready to use. To assist with Linens, contact Lynn Hower.
The Flower Guild prepares and cares for the floral arrangements that grace the church each week, offering beauty and reverence that enrich our worship and honor God’s presence among us.
If you feel called to help with the church flowers, please contact Tina Powell or Karen Wild

Knitting Ministry
The Knitting Ministry is called to serve God and neighbor through the ministry of knitting and crocheting. Rooted in the faith, worship, and outreach of the Episcopal Church, we gather in fellowship to pray, create and share handmade gifts that offer warmth, comfort, and compassion. Through our work, we seek to reflect Christ’s love, strengthen our parish communities, and extend care to those in need, one stitch, one prayer, and one act of kindness at a time.
To participate, please contact Gayle Hudnall or Candy Terry.
Prayer Ministry
Each Friday, parishioners gather to pray for the needs of our church, community, and one another. All are welcome.
To join, please contact Mary Charlotte Kelly.
Men's Breakfast Ministry
On the first Saturday of each month, men gather for fellowship, food, and occasional speakers. Proceeds from the breakfast support outreach efforts.
To learn more, contact John Orsato.
Coffee Hour Ministry
Our Coffee Hour Ministry extends the warmth of our worship into a time of fellowship and connection. Each Sunday after the services, volunteers host a simple gathering where parishioners, newcomers, and friends can enjoy refreshments, share conversation, and strengthen the bonds of our parish community.
To become part of a coffee hour team, contact Mary Charlotte Kelly for 8 am and Joy Young for 9:30 am.
Usher Ministry
Our ministry of ushering is one of the most visible ministries in the church, as ushers ensure that people entering our church see and experience the love of God. The usher duties can be summed up in a few words: make people feel welcome at church and assist with people management during all services especially during communion. If you have an interest in this ministry, please contact Brian Dickson.
Funeral Reception Ministry
Our Funeral Reception Ministry offers compassionate hospitality to families and friends gathering after service. Parishioners prepare and drop off light refreshments, which the reception group plates and serves to create a welcoming space for remembrance, and support. This ministry helps extend the church’s care and comfort beyond the sanctuary.
If you would like to join the reception team, please contact Cindie Hollowell or Terry Martin.
Market Day Ministry
Wicomico Parish Church Annual Market Day is a beloved tradition featuring a giant yard sale, gourmet bake sale, and silent auction. The purpose of Market Day is to encourage fellowship, unity, and a sense of belonging among church members; to participate in the joy of giving back to the community; and to draw others to our church grounds and buildings so they begin to know us and experience the warmth of our church community.
If you would like to help on Market Day but have not volunteered yet, please contact Kara Johnson or Laurie Goddin.
Teller Ministry
Our Teller Ministry serves the parish by carefully counting, recording, and safeguarding the weekly offerings. Working in pairs for accuracy and accountability, our tellers ensure that every gift is handled with integrity and gratitude. Their quiet, behind‑the‑scenes service supports the financial stewardship of the church and helps sustain our shared ministries.
If you would like to assist the tellers, please contact Amanda DiRienz.
