Outreach Ministries

Wicomico Parish Church supports those in need throughout the Northern Neck.

The Link

To serve individuals, our organization works hand in hand with The Link (hyperlink), which

  • Provides interviews, counseling, and follow-up for individuals seeking assistance,

  • Refers clients to partner churches and agencies for emergency financial support,

  • Goal is to assist clients in becoming self-sufficient.

Interfaith Service Council

Our church also participates in the leadership team of the Interfaith Service Council, an organization of area churches formed to assist anyone in need. This group:

  • Maintains a warehouse of donated household items,

  • Volunteers provide house repairs and wheelchair ramps,

  • Financial assistance for housing, utility and medical bills is also available.

Gleamers and Blenders

Gleamers and Blenders is a local food pantry in Burgess. Wicomico Parish volunteers deliver frozen meats from Food Lion twice weekly. If you would like to assist, contact: Vickie Tillman.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals to seniors who are homebound or unable to cook. Wicomico Parish volunteers serve one week per month for at least 10 months annually. If you would like to assist, contact: Lisa Hudnall.

Angel Tree

Each December, our Parish collects gift cards to help the Northumberland Department of Social Services ensure every child in Northumberland County has a joyful Christmas. If you would like to assist, contact: Tina Powell.

Helping Other Non-profit Organizations Help Our Community

Members of our congregation participate broadly in the many non-profit organizations in the Northern Neck, serving with their time and talents. In addition, Wicomico Parish Church generously supports these groups.  Market Day, along with the Knitting Ministry and the Men’s Breakfast, provide the bulk of funds for our church support of local non-profit organizations. This funding is complemented by a generous percentage of parishioner tithes.
